/On August 4th, 2011, a team of young leaders from across Canada will embark on the Mission of a lifetime. But, make no mistake about it, the 21 leaders know this is no summer vacation. The Junior Team Canada (JTC) Mission follows on the heels of Minister Baird’s visit to the ASEAN Summit in Bali, Indonesia. Global Vision’s Junior Team Canada Mission runs through to the 19th of August, in Kuala Lumpur. JTC willrepresent more than 40 Canadian businesses interested in exploring new markets and expanding their international reach. After the JTC mission, the team will be compile a market report and contact list to share with their supporting companies as well The Minister of International Trade, Ed Fast, and other officials in Canada.
Amy Giroux, Director of Global Vision, says the Canadian leaders will focus on key sectors including agriculture, education, finance, and natural resources. Some of the highlights of the mission, include meeting with top Canadian companies who are successful in the region. “I think is it great that the first trade mission following Minister Baird's visit is not a bunch of business leaders but rather some of Canada's top young leaders,” said Giroux, “This mission is all about branding Canada in Southeast Asia.”
